I'm not sure what else to try or look at, please advise.ĮDIT: running into the same issue on Arch Linuxįull output. I reinstalled onionshare and tried running both from the desktop shortcut and from command line. I then ran tor like so: systemctl enable tor So I removed onionshare and installed TOR. I realized I didn't have TOR installed on this VM and since this program allows you to share via onion links I thought that might be significant. I gave the file executable permissions with chmod before hand. I tried running the same command as root but get the same output. onionshare_sktop: line 2: X-SnapInstanceName=onionshare: command not found onionshare_sktop: line 1: [Desktop: command not found The main point from the output I saw was this. onionshare_sktop which gave a massive output (which I will add to the comments to avoid making this post text massive.) So i wanted to see if I could run from the terminal. Running ps indicated that onionshare was not running. It popped up but nothing happened, the wheel spun near the cursor indicating something was happening but then it stopped and nothing launched. I pressed windows key (i'm using a VM) to open my start menu (is it called that on linux?) and typed onionshare. ![]() I installed snapd and installed from snap. ![]()
